Anna & the Sea is the solo project of Anna Lindström, that was a wild fancy less than a year ago but now ready to release her debut EP later this spring.

The songs are written and produced entirely by herself, recorded together with a number of friends and familiar faces from the Swedish music scene.

The result is indie-pop - rhythmic, complex and dreamlike all at the same time, with a stripped-down but sublime production that gives room to Anna’s unmistakable vocals.

Her debut single “Lake Como” was released earlier this year and got picked up by Swedish national radio and found fans amongst music blogs and magazines such as HYMN, Mystic Sons, Medium, Popmuzik, Popmani, and Indietronica.

Now it’s time to follow up with “The Sun Is Shining For You”. The second single starts out with a growling, gritty Hammond sound but a driving rhythm with a clock-ticking agogo and embracing strings contrasts the gloomy feel and pushes the song forward towards a consoling chorus.

“Many of my song ideas come to me in my dreams. It may sound stupid but I once dreamed that Madonna stood in my kitchen and was humming the main phrase to what became The sun is shining for you. Maybe I should credit her in the liner notes?”
