Anna & the Sea continues to deliver a new release every month this spring and now it's time for the summery single Love Hangover.

The song is about longing for affirmation and the desire to be loved, and how far you are willing to go to get it. It could be mistaken for a classic love song but in reality, it is about different types of dependencies and destructive behaviors as addictions or to stay in unhealthy relationships.

Love Hangover is a perfect pop song that is both energetic and tragic at the same time but still ends up hopefully. Anna tells about the writing process behind the song and the meaning for her:

"To me, songwriting is a way to understand myself and my environment, but also an opportunity to put a point for different chapters of my life and move on.
Love Hangover is about the moment when the illusion dies and the bubble bursts. A painful process that at the same time sets me free. Alone, I'm going out and to the dance floor and embracing it as newfound freedom - even if what's left when I wake up the next day is a bittersweet hangover. "

Anna & the Sea is the solo project of Anna Lindstrom, that was a wild fancy less than a year ago and has now materialized in her debut EP Söräng.

The songs are written and produced entirely by herself, recorded together with a number of friends and familiar faces from the Swedish music scene like Peter Morén of Peter Bjorn and John, drummer Ola Winkler (Ane Brun, Veronica Maggio), Nils Berg (Håkan Hellström) and Fredrik Hermansson (Ane Brun) playing organ and piano.

The result is indie-pop - rhythmic, complex and dreamlike all at the same time, with a stripped-down but sublime production that gives room to Anna’s unmistakable vocals that have been compared to both Kate Bush and Lana Del Rey.

Her debut single “Lake Como” and the sequel “The Sun Is Shining For You” was released earlier this year and got picked up by Swedish national radio and found fans amongst music blogs and magazines such as HYMN, Mystic Sons, Medium, Popmuzik, Popmani, and Indietronica. “Picking Up A Dream” from the debut EP was featured by Spotify in their Indie Highlights.

Originally from a small town in Sweden, Anna moved to Stockholm, getting involved early in the music scene as a singer and background singer in different bands, as a sound engineer, radio show host, music journalist, and DJ.

Secretly, she has been working on her own material, but it never felt like the right place or time to put everything together, until now.

Anna & the Sea is independent and free from the structures of the music industry and releases her music entirely on her own label Birdtown Records.
